Day 4.

I no longer need the pattern with me to make these little honeycombs, and they're knitting up relatively quickly. I feel less stressed out every time I finish one. Which is great with all the papers and exams piling up on my desk.

Today's honeycomb is with a sock monkey I made in middle school because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine.

Last night at the holiday party for my academic department, I got a skein of beautiful sock wool in purples and greens from the gift exchange, pictured in front of my lovely computer below (which until today was not cooperating with me. Thank goodness it's back in business to finish up finals, and that my kind and understanding girlfriend let me mooch off hers for the last few days!). Hopefully we'll see some new colors in my knitting soon!

"Stress is basically a disconnection from the earth, a forgetting of the breath. Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important. Just lie down." -- Natalie Goldberg
